Acacia linifolia is a graceful Australian native shrub or small tree, typically reaching 2–5 m in height and 2–4 m in width. It is commonly found in the Sydney region, including Lane Cove National Park, where it often colonizes disturbed ground along roadsides. This wattle features fine, linear phyllodes and a slightly weeping habit, making it ideal for light screening or adding elegance to a garden setting.
The shrub produces cream-colored flowers in summer, with occasional second flowering in winter. Its open, spreading foliage allows dappled light to pass through, creating a soft, airy effect in landscaping. Acacia linifolia thrives in light or partial shade, though it can tolerate full sun, and prefers medium to heavy soils with moderate moisture. It is evergreen but relatively short-lived compared to larger wattles.
