Pot Size

Acacia longissima is an erect or spreading Australian native shrub or small tree, growing 2–6 m high. Its smooth grey bark and slender, angled or flattened branchlets give it a clean, elegant appearance. The plant produces linear phyllodes 10–20 (up to 30) cm long and 1–6 mm wide, mostly glabrous with a prominent midvein and acute to subacute tips, giving the foliage a fine, graceful texture.

Flowering occurs in pale yellow to whitish cylindrical flower heads, arranged singly or in small clusters in the axils of the phyllodes. The flowers are scattered along the rachis, providing a delicate display. Following flowering, the shrub produces straight or slightly curved pods, 6.5–14 cm long and 2–4 mm wide, with a firm papery to thinly woody texture and longitudinal wrinkles when dry. The seeds are longitudinal with a thick, folded funicle.

Acacia longissima is well suited to low-maintenance gardens, native plantings, coastal or woodland settings, and can be used as a screen or feature shrub due to its upright habit and fine-textured foliage.
