Acanthus Mollis, commonly known as Oyster Plant, is a bold, architectural perennial with large, deeply lobed, glossy green leaves that create a lush, tropical effect in gardens. In late spring to summer, it produces striking tall flower spikes adorned with purple and white tubular flowers, adding a dramatic vertical element to garden beds and borders.
Highly adaptable, Oyster Plant thrives in shaded areas but can tolerate partial sun with sufficient moisture. It is a hardy, low-maintenance plant that spreads over time, making it excellent for groundcover in shaded landscapes. Its lush foliage provides an elegant contrast to other plants, making it a favourite in cottage, woodland, and formal gardens.
