Acer Palmatum ‘Japanese Sunrise’ is an elegant, broadly upright Japanese maple prized for its colourful foliage and striking ornamental bark. Its finely lobed leaves emerge yellow-green with coppery-orange margins in spring, mature to fresh green through summer, then develop glowing shades of gold, yellow and red during autumn. Once the leaves fall, the young stems become a standout feature, displaying coral-red, orange and golden-yellow tones throughout winter.
Perfect as a feature tree, ‘Japanese Sunrise’ brings year-round colour and graceful structure to courtyards, Japanese-style gardens, woodland settings and mixed borders. Its upright growth makes it an excellent choice where vertical interest is needed without an excessively broad canopy. Plant it in a sheltered position with moist, well-drained soil to enjoy its vibrant seasonal display for many years.
