Acer Palmatum ‘Lionheart’ is a distinctive Japanese maple valued for its deeply dissected foliage and elegant upright-to-spreading form. The finely cut leaves emerge vivid pink-red to bright red in spring, deepen to rich maroon and bronze-green through summer, then develop striking orange, scarlet and deep crimson tones in autumn. Young plants may also display attractive deep-red bark marked with pale vertical striping.
This refined ornamental tree makes an outstanding feature for courtyards, entrance gardens, Japanese-inspired landscapes, borders and large containers. Its manageable mature size provides impressive colour and texture without overwhelming smaller spaces, while its changing foliage creates interest across several seasons. ‘Lionheart’ is an excellent choice for customers seeking an unusual laceleaf maple with a stronger, more upright structure than many traditional cascading dissectum varieties.
