These seedlings were grown from the elegant Acer Palmatum ‘Nicholsonii’ (Japanese Maple – Nicholsonii), an admired variety known for its finely divided leaves and exceptional autumn colour. Seedlings from this parent often develop soft green to bronze foliage in spring and summer, turning brilliant red and orange tones as the weather cools. Many seedlings will display the parent’s graceful branching and balanced, upright habit, producing beautiful garden specimens over time.

A Japanese Maple is a standout addition to any garden, offering year-round interest with stunning foliage that transforms through all four seasons. However, due to the time-intensive growing and grafting process, they can often be quite expensive. These seed-grown ‘Nicholsonii’ seedlings offer an affordable opportunity to enjoy the natural variation and charm of this vibrant variety, and they are also excellent for bonsai training due to their fine branching and strong seasonal colour display.

With good care, they can reach mature height over approximately 10–15 years, depending on growing conditions.

Please note: each plant is unique and may not be fully root bound at the time of purchase. The plant details below are based on the typical characteristics of the parent variety and may vary slightly between seedlings.
