These seedlings were grown from the renowned Acer Palmatum ‘Oshu Shidare’ (Japanese Maple – Oshu Shidare), a highly regarded laceleaf variety known for its cascading branches and finely divided foliage. Seedlings from this parent often inherit beautiful, lacy leaves with soft green to red tones that intensify through the seasons. While each plant is genetically unique, many will display a semi-weeping or gracefully arching habit reminiscent of the parent tree.

A Japanese Maple is a standout addition to any garden, offering year-round interest with stunning foliage that transforms through all four seasons. However, due to the time-intensive growing and grafting process, they can often be quite expensive. These seed-grown ‘Oshu Shidare’ seedlings provide a more affordable way to enjoy the elegance of this exquisite variety and are also excellent candidates for training as bonsai due to their delicate branching and compact growth potential.

With good care, they can reach mature height over approximately 10–15 years, depending on conditions and pruning.

Please note: each plant is unique and may not be fully root bound at the time of purchase. The plant details below are based on the typical characteristics of the parent variety and may vary slightly between seedlings.
