Acmena smithii ‘Minor’ – Dwarf Lilly Pilly

Acmena smithii ‘Minor’, also known as Syzygium smithii ‘Minor’, is a compact evergreen shrub valued for its dense branching, small glossy leaves and attractive seasonal colour. Its new growth emerges in beautiful bronze-red tones before gradually maturing to deep green, creating a lovely contrast throughout the year.

During the warmer months, small white flowers appear sporadically among the foliage, followed by decorative white to pale mauve berries. Its naturally dense growth habit, with foliage extending close to ground level, makes it an excellent choice for low hedges, screening, borders and structured garden planting.

This hardy Australian native shrub adapts to full sun and partial shade and grows in a variety of soil types, provided drainage is adequate. It tolerates light to moderate frost once established, becomes increasingly drought tolerant with age and has good resistance to psyllid attack.
