Agave Desmettiana ‘Variegata’ (Variegated Smooth Agave) is a striking evergreen succulent valued for its elegant rosette of arching green leaves edged with creamy-yellow to golden variegation. Its bold architectural form makes it an excellent feature plant for rock gardens, dry landscapes, containers, borders and modern garden designs. The foliage provides year-round colour and structure with relatively little maintenance.
Once established, this agave is drought tolerant and performs best in full sun with well-drained soil. It gradually forms clumps through offsets and may eventually produce a tall flowering spike with pale to bright yellow flowers after many years. Because it is hardy, sculptural and water-wise, it is a strong choice for customers wanting a low-maintenance statement plant.
