Ajuga Reptans ‘Chocolate Chip’ (Chocolate Chip Bugleweed) is a low-growing evergreen groundcover prized for its dense carpet of narrow, glossy leaves in rich green, bronze and chocolate tones. In spring, short spikes of blue to violet-blue flowers rise above the foliage, adding seasonal colour and contrast. Its compact habit makes it ideal for borders, edging, rockeries, containers, underplanting and filling small shaded areas.
Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance, Chocolate Chip performs especially well in part shade to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, although it can tolerate sunnier positions with adequate moisture. It spreads gradually to form a neat mat and requires little pruning, making it a useful choice for customers wanting an attractive, dependable groundcover with year-round foliage interest.
