Garlic Chives is a hardy, clumping perennial herb valued for its flat, grass-like green leaves and delicate white star-shaped flowers. The foliage has a mild garlic flavour and provides an attractive, edible addition to herb gardens, vegetable beds, borders, pots, and containers. Its upright growth and attractive flowering also make it useful as an ornamental edible plant.
Easy to grow and productive with regular harvesting, Garlic Chives performs well in a sunny to lightly shaded position with fertile, well-drained soil. The leaves can be harvested throughout the growing season and are ideal for adding a subtle garlic flavour to salads, soups, stir-fries, sauces, vegetables, and other dishes.
