Alnus Jorullensis (Evergreen Alder) is a fast-growing, attractive shade tree with an upright to broadly pyramidal canopy and graceful, slightly pendulous branches. Its dense foliage consists of glossy dark-green leaves with finely serrated edges, while bronze-toned new growth adds seasonal interest. This vigorous tree establishes quickly and is ideal for large gardens, parks, windbreaks, screening and areas requiring dependable summer shade.
Evergreen Alder is particularly useful in moist or difficult garden areas, as it tolerates clay, loam and sandy soils and performs well where additional moisture is available. Its quick growth and substantial canopy make it an excellent choice for customers wanting a strong landscape feature without waiting many years for impact. However, its large, moisture-seeking root system means it should be planted well away from pipes, paving, buildings and underground services.
