Armeria maritima, commonly known as Pink Sea Thrift. This compact evergreen perennial forms dense mounds of narrow, grass-like foliage, topped with cheerful globe-shaped clusters of soft to bright pink flowers from spring through summer. Its neat, low-growing habit makes it an excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, coastal plantings, pathways, containers, and edging, while the nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Pink Sea Thrift thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, performing exceptionally well in sandy, rocky, and coastal conditions. Highly tolerant of drought, wind, and salt spray once established, it requires minimal maintenance and remains attractive throughout the year. Its compact size, colourful blooms, and hardy nature make it an excellent addition to cottage gardens, water-wise landscapes, and alpine-style plantings.
