Artemisia ‘Powis Castle’ (Powis Castle Wormwood) is a hardy evergreen ornamental shrub valued for its finely divided silver-grey foliage and soft, architectural form. It is widely used in Mediterranean, coastal, and waterwise gardens where its cool-toned foliage provides year-round contrast and texture. The aromatic leaves and mounding growth habit make it an excellent feature shrub for borders and mixed plantings.
Powis Castle Wormwood thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, performing exceptionally well in dry and low-fertility conditions once established. It is highly drought tolerant and ideal for gravel gardens, rockeries, and low-maintenance landscapes. Minimal pruning is required to maintain its neat shape and encourage dense growth.
