Carex Inversa (Knob Sedge) is a hardy, grass-like native sedge that forms neat green tufts and spreads gently through underground stems. It is well suited to natural-style gardens, wetland edges, creek banks, rain gardens, and areas with seasonally moist soil, bringing soft texture and movement to the landscape. Yarra Ranges describes it as a loosely tufted sedge with erect flowering stems up to around 50cm high.
This is a practical choice for customers wanting a low-maintenance, resilient plant for damp or difficult areas. Its fine green foliage and small brown to chestnut flowerheads give it a natural, understated look, making it useful for mass planting, habitat gardens, erosion control, and revegetation projects. It tolerates moist to wet soils and can also handle periodic dry periods once established.
