Carpobrotus edulis (Yellow Pigface) is a tough, evergreen succulent groundcover known for its outstanding drought tolerance and vigorous spreading habit. Its fleshy, triangular leaves form a dense, weed-suppressing mat, making it ideal for erosion control, coastal gardens and low-maintenance landscapes.
From late winter to summer, it produces large, bright yellow daisy-like flowers that fade to soft pink as they age, followed by fleshy edible fruits suitable for jams and preserves. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soils, this reliable plant performs beautifully in hot, dry and coastal conditions.
