Ceratonia Siliqua (Carob Tree) is a hardy evergreen tree prized for its long, dark brown pods that can be processed into carob powder and chips. This Mediterranean species offers attractive glossy foliage and a naturally rounded canopy, making it both ornamental and productive in home gardens. It thrives in warm, dry conditions and is particularly well suited to Australian climates with hot summers.
This tree is drought tolerant once established and grows reliably in well drained soil with plenty of sunlight. Ceratonia Siliqua (Carob Tree) is a slow to moderate grower that becomes a strong, long lived specimen with minimal maintenance. It is a great choice for edible gardens, Mediterranean style landscapes, or anyone wanting a low care fruiting tree that offers both shade and harvest.
