Cereus Peruvianus, commonly known as Peruvian Apple Cactus, is a tall, columnar cactus valued for its strong architectural form and striking blue-green ribbed stems. Its upright growth habit creates a bold vertical accent in xeriscape, desert-style, and contemporary landscapes. Over time, mature plants can branch and form impressive sculptural groupings, making them excellent feature specimens.
This hardy cactus thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, requiring very little water once established. In warm climates, it produces large white night-blooming flowers followed by edible, red to purple fruit. With its dramatic form, low maintenance needs, and resilience to heat and drought, Cereus Peruvianus is an excellent choice for modern water-wise garden designs.
