Chrysocephalum apiculatum ‘Silver and Gold’ is a fast-growing, low-spreading evergreen groundcover valued for its soft silver-grey foliage and cheerful yellow daisy-like flowers. Its fine, woolly leaves provide an attractive contrast to the bright blooms, which can appear intermittently throughout much of the year.
This hardy, sprawling plant is particularly useful for covering large areas, coastal gardens and difficult sites where wind and salt exposure can be challenging. It performs well in full sun to light shade and tolerates both regular watering and periods of dryness once established.
‘Silver and Gold’ is low maintenance and responds well to pruning, allowing its size and shape to be controlled while encouraging fresh growth. Its non-reseeding habit also makes it a useful alternative to more invasive groundcover species.
