Citrus deliciosa ‘FairchildLS’ (Mandarin Thorny Grafted) is an exceptional grafted mandarin variety known for its sweet, juicy fruit and reliable performance. Developed at UC Riverside, this selection produces medium-to-large mandarins with an easy-peel rind and only 2–3 seeds per fruit—far fewer than the original ‘Fairchild’. The flavour is rich, aromatic and beautifully balanced, making it a favourite for fresh eating.
This variety fruits in winter and can hold its crop on the tree until late March, providing an extended harvest season. A vigorous and heavy-bearing tree, it grows well both in the ground and in containers. The grafting ensures earlier fruiting—typically from the third year—and excellent overall productivity, even in smaller garden spaces.
