Coelogyne ovalis is an attractive epiphytic orchid native to regions extending from the Himalayas and western Yunnan in China through Indo-China. It is a pseudobulbous species naturally adapted to humid, wet tropical environments, where it typically grows upon trees rather than in soil.
Its compact pseudobulbs and elegant orchid growth habit make it an appealing choice for specialist orchid collections. It performs best in warm, humid conditions with bright filtered light, excellent airflow and a free-draining growing medium that allows the roots to breathe.
