Crassula arborescens, commonly known as Silver Dollar Plant or Silver Jade, is a striking evergreen succulent shrub admired for its rounded, silvery-blue leaves coated with a soft grey bloom. The thick, fleshy foliage is often edged with reddish-purple margins and decorated with tiny red speckles, giving the plant exceptional ornamental appeal throughout the year.
Its upright, branching habit gradually develops into a small shrub or tree, making it an excellent feature for succulent gardens, rockeries, containers, and water-wise landscapes. During spring and summer, clusters of delicate white to pale pink, star-shaped flowers appear above the foliage, attracting bees and other pollinators. Easy to grow and exceptionally drought tolerant, Silver Jade is a favourite for both beginner and experienced gardeners.
