Cryptomeria japonica ‘Nana’ (Dwarf Japanese Cedar) is a compact evergreen conifer valued for its dense growth, refined texture and naturally attractive form. Its closely packed, bright to deep-green foliage develops on upright, layered branches, gradually producing a compact mound or narrow conical specimen. During cooler weather, the foliage may take on attractive bronze-to-rusty-red tones, providing seasonal interest while remaining evergreen.
Ideal for borders, entrance plantings, conifer collections, rock gardens and large containers, this slow-growing cultivar provides dependable year-round structure without requiring frequent pruning. It suits customers wanting a distinctive, low-maintenance evergreen that remains much smaller than the standard Japanese cedar and can be used as a feature plant or informal low screen
