Cucumis sativus (Lebanese Cucumber)

Cucumis sativus (Lebanese Cucumber) is a productive warm-season vegetable valued for its short, smooth-skinned fruits with a crisp texture and mild, sweet flavour. The fruits are best harvested while young, typically around 10–12 cm long, when they are tender and refreshing. The vigorous vines produce abundant fruit and are ideal for fresh salads, sandwiches, snacking and pickling.

Easy to grow in a warm, sunny position, Cucumis sativus (Lebanese Cucumber) prefers fertile, well-prepared soil with consistent moisture throughout the growing season. The vigorous vines can be trained onto a trellis to save space, while larger containers can also be used where the vines are allowed to trail.
