Cupressocyparis leylandii is a vigorous evergreen conifer valued for its dense, deep green foliage and fast, upright growth. It naturally develops into a tall, columnar to broadly pyramidal tree and is particularly popular for privacy screening, windbreaks and large formal hedges. Its dense foliage provides excellent year-round coverage when regularly maintained.
Leyland Cypress performs best in full sun and moist but well-drained soil, although established plants tolerate a range of soil conditions. It responds well to regular trimming when used as a hedge, but its naturally large size and rapid growth should be considered when selecting a planting position.
