Diospyros kaki ‘Maekawa Jiro’, commonly known as Maekawa Jiro Persimmon, is a cold-hardy, compact deciduous fruit tree valued for its excellent-quality, non-astringent fruit. It produces large, seedless persimmons that can be eaten firm like an apple when fully coloured.
This early-ripening variety is slightly ahead of standard Jiro types and is well suited to smaller gardens due to its manageable size and strong structure. It is self-fertile and reliable, making it an excellent choice for home orchards.
