Echium Candicans ‘Heronswood Pink’ (Heronswood Pink Pride Of Madeira)

Echium Candicans ‘Heronswood Pink’ (Heronswood Pink Pride Of Madeira) is a compact evergreen shrub valued for its striking upright spikes of soft to mid-pink flowers held above attractive grey-green foliage. Compared with the familiar blue-flowering Pride of Madeira, ‘Heronswood Pink’ offers a softer pastel colour while retaining the same bold architectural form. The tall flower spikes are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, making this variety an excellent feature plant for sunny borders, coastal gardens and Mediterranean-style landscapes. 

Hardy once established, ‘Heronswood Pink’ performs best in an open, sunny position with freely draining soil. It tolerates heat, drought and coastal conditions and requires relatively little maintenance. Removing spent flower spikes after blooming helps maintain a tidy, compact shape, but hard pruning into old wood should be avoided. Its combination of distinctive pink flowers, evergreen foliage and low-care nature makes it an excellent choice for high-impact garden displays.
