Ficus pumila, commonly known as Creeping Fig, is an evergreen climber and trailer that brings rich, lush greenery to walls, trellises, fences, and ground areas. Its ovate, glossy leaves range from 2–5 cm on climbing shoots, with larger, narrower leaves on non-climbing shoots, creating attractive textural variation. Small purple fruits appear seasonally, adding ornamental interest.
This hardy, low-maintenance plant grows to 2.5–4 metres high and 1.5–2.5 metres wide, thriving in a range of soils and moisture conditions as long as they are well-drained. Creeping Fig prefers full sun to partial shade and is ideal for covering vertical structures, cascading over raised beds, or as a versatile groundcover.
