Gasteria spp., commonly known as Ox Tongue Succulents, are attractive, slow-growing plants native to South Africa. They are prized for their thick, fleshy leaves marked with distinctive patterns, spots, or mottling, adding year-round interest to indoor and outdoor collections.
Unlike many succulents, Gasteria tolerates lower light levels and partial shade, making it an excellent choice for indoor growing. Mature plants may produce elegant tubular flowers from winter to spring, while their compact growth habit makes them ideal for pots, rockeries, and succulent gardens.
