Grevillea laurifolia – Blue Mountains Rambler

Grevillea laurifolia, commonly known as the Blue Mountains Rambler, is a hardy Australian native valued for its dense, spreading growth and excellent performance on slopes and challenging sites. This evergreen groundcover or low-growing shrub features broad, heart-shaped leaves with a tough, leathery texture, creating attractive year-round foliage.

From winter through early summer, it produces striking wiry, toothbrush-like flowers in deep red tones with golden tips. The nectar-rich blooms attract birds and pollinators, adding valuable wildlife habitat to the garden during the cooler months.

Its vigorous spreading habit makes it particularly useful for embankments, slopes, retaining walls and erosion-prone areas. Once established, it is resilient and low maintenance, although care should be taken to minimise root disturbance during planting and pruning.
