Haemanthus albiflos – Paintbrush Plant

Haemanthus albiflos is an evergreen bulbous perennial valued for its unusual foliage and distinctive growth habit. It forms an ovoid bulb either singly or in clumps, producing up to three pairs of broad, tongue-shaped leaves. The leaves may stand upright, arch gracefully or lie relatively flat against the ground.

The light green leaves can reach approximately 50cm long and 11.5cm wide and may occasionally feature attractive white spotting. Their flat or channelled form and finely fringed margins add texture and interest, making this unusual bulb an excellent choice for shaded gardens and plant collections.
