Hoya davidcummingii is a beautiful tropical evergreen climber from the Philippines, admired for its fragrant pink flowers with contrasting yellow centres. Its attractive blooms and trailing growth make it a rewarding addition to indoor plant collections, particularly when grown under warm, bright conditions.
This Hoya can be somewhat challenging to grow in conventional potting mixes, but it responds exceptionally well to semi-hydroponic growing. A free-draining medium such as expanded clay pebbles with a small water reservoir can help provide the consistent moisture it prefers while reducing the risk of waterlogged roots.
With the right growing conditions, this unusual Hoya can reward growers with fragrant flowers and vigorous new growth.
