Iris × hollandica ‘Angel Wings’ – Dutch Iris

Iris × hollandica ‘Dutch Iris’ is an elegant bulbous perennial admired for its refined flowers and graceful, upright form. Unlike many traditional irises, Dutch Iris is grown from bulbs rather than rhizomes and produces its striking blooms in spring.

This easy-care iris performs best in sunny positions with light, well-drained soil. The bulbs can be planted in groups to create an impressive seasonal display in borders, beds and containers. After flowering, bulbs may produce small offsets that can be separated and replanted, although these may take several years to reach flowering size.

In cooler climates, Dutch Iris is often grown as a seasonal bulb, planted in autumn for a spring display. Keeping the soil consistently moist during active growth encourages strong flowering.
