Kunzea baxteri, commonly known as Scarlet Kunzea or Baxter’s Kunzea, is an attractive Australian native shrub prized for its spectacular crimson-red, bottlebrush-like flower clusters. The fine, soft green to blue-green foliage provides an appealing backdrop to the profusion of vivid flowers, which are particularly prominent from late autumn through spring and can appear sporadically at other times of the year.

With its rounded, spreading habit and excellent flowering display, Scarlet Kunzea makes a striking feature plant and is also well suited to screening, hedging and native garden designs. It performs best in full sun to part shade and well-drained soil, and is valued for its tolerance of wind, frost and dry conditions once established. Its nectar-rich flowers also attract birds and other garden wildlife.
