Mesembryanthemum crystallinum ‘Golden Sun’, commonly known as Yellow Pig Face, is a hardy, fast-spreading succulent groundcover valued for its vibrant golden-yellow daisy-like flowers and attractive grey-green foliage. Flowering from late winter through summer, this cheerful variety creates a brilliant carpet of colour while attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
With fleshy, narrow leaves and soft rose-pink stems, ‘Golden Sun’ thrives in full sun to partial shade and performs exceptionally well in well-drained soils. Its drought tolerance, coastal resilience, and spreading habit make it an excellent choice for rockeries, embankments, borders, mass plantings, and containers. Easy to grow and requiring minimal care, it provides year-round texture and months of spectacular blooms.
