Olea europaea 'Coratina' (Coratina Olive) is a highly productive Italian olive variety prized for its excellent oil quality and reliable heavy cropping. This vigorous tree features the characteristic silvery-green foliage of olives and produces medium-sized fruits with high oil content and a distinctive peppery flavour. The fruits have a high flesh-to-pit ratio, making them excellent for both oil production and table olives. Its strong, spreading growth habit and consistent yields make it a favourite for commercial orchards and productive home gardens.
Well-suited to Mediterranean climates, 'Coratina' thrives in well-drained soils and full sun. It demonstrates excellent drought tolerance once established and shows good resistance to common olive diseases. This variety is particularly valued for its high oil yield, robust nature, and ability to produce quality fruit even in challenging conditions.
