Orthrosanthus multiflorus – Morning Iris

Orthrosanthus multiflorus, commonly known as Morning Iris, is a hardy Australian native clumping perennial valued for its graceful, grass-like foliage and beautiful true-blue flowers. The starry blooms open for just one day at a time, but are produced abundantly throughout spring and early summer, creating a long-lasting and colourful garden display.

With its neat clumping habit and low-maintenance nature, Morning Iris is an excellent choice for borders, mass planting, native gardens and underplanting. It prefers semi-shaded positions but can also tolerate full sun when provided with suitable moisture. An annual clean-up after flowering helps remove old flower stems and keeps the plant looking tidy.
