Pelargonium australe (Austral Storksbill) is a small, hardy, herbaceous perennial native to Australia and well adapted to a wide range of environments—from coastal regions to alpine and semi-arid landscapes. Growing up to 0.5 metres tall, it features softly hairy stems and leaves, giving the plant a slightly textured, natural appearance.
The leaves are oval-shaped and gently lobed, typically 30–40 mm long, forming a compact and attractive foliage base. The plant produces delicate flowers in shades of white or pale pink, each marked with distinctive deep red streaks. These blooms appear in clusters of up to 12 on long stalks, creating a light and airy display. Well suited to rockeries, containers, and naturalistic gardens, Pelargonium australe is a resilient, low-maintenance species that thrives in full sun to light shade and tolerates a wide variety of soils.
