Diospyros kaki ‘Fuyu’ (Fuyu Persimmon) is a superb deciduous fruit tree valued for its vibrant autumn foliage and generous crops of bright orange, non-astringent fruit. Unlike other persimmons, Fuyu can be eaten firm straight from the tree, offering crisp sweetness similar to an apple. As the fruit softens, it develops a richer, honeyed flavour, making it ideal for a variety of culinary uses.
Highly productive and reliable, Fuyu is perfect for home orchards, gardens and edible landscapes. It is easy to grow, thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and produces medium-to-large seedless fruit from late autumn into winter. Its compact branching and ornamental seasonal colour make it both beautiful and practical.
