Phormium tenax ‘Sweet Mist®’ – Sweet Mist Flax

Phormium tenax ‘Sweet Mist®’ is an ultra-compact New Zealand flax selected for its attractive bronze-coloured foliage, clean appearance and exceptional toughness. One of the most compact Phormium forms available, it develops a neat, dense clump that is ideal for smaller gardens and landscape applications.

Growing to approximately 40cm high and wide, ‘Sweet Mist®’ is particularly useful for mass plantings, low borders, garden infill and containers. It performs best in full sun to part shade and tolerates frost, moderate dry conditions and a wide range of soil types, provided drainage is good.

Once established, it requires relatively little maintenance, although summer watering is recommended. Older foliage can be removed as needed, or the plant can be cut back periodically to rejuvenate its appearance.
