Pinus mugo ‘Pincushion’ – Dwarf Mountain Pine

Pinus mugo ‘Pincushion’ is a dwarf, slow-growing evergreen conifer valued for its low, compact and spreading form. Unlike the typical Mountain Pine, this variety develops into a neat, rounded bush reaching around 90cm high and 1.2m wide, making it particularly suitable for smaller landscapes.

Its densely packed dark green needles have a gently wavy, ruffled texture and completely cover the stems and basal branches, creating a lush architectural appearance. The compact habit makes ‘Pincushion’ an excellent evergreen focal point for city gardens, courtyards and smaller outdoor spaces.

It also performs beautifully in containers and rockeries, where its distinctive form can be appreciated year-round.
