Pittosporum eugenioides – Lemonwood

Pittosporum eugenioides is a handsome evergreen tree valued for its dense branching, glossy foliage and highly fragrant yellowish flowers. Native to New Zealand, it develops an attractive upright form with leaves clustered towards the ends of the branches, creating a full and refined appearance.

The narrow oval to oblong leaves are glossy dark green on the upper surface and paler underneath, with gently wavy margins. In spring, the tree produces numerous small, fragrant yellowish flowers in clusters at the ends of the branches, followed by small egg-shaped fruits.

With its evergreen foliage, dense growth and pleasantly scented flowers, Pittosporum eugenioides makes an excellent specimen tree or landscape feature where sufficient space is available.
