Platycladus Orientalis ‘Morgan’ (Morgan’s Oriental Arborvitae)

Platycladus Orientalis ‘Morgan’ (Morgan’s Oriental Arborvitae) is a compact, slow-growing evergreen conifer with a naturally dense, rounded to conical habit. Its soft, scale-like foliage emerges bright yellow-green to chartreuse, maturing to deeper green through the warmer months before developing attractive bronze, copper or orange tones in cold winter weather. The tidy form and changing seasonal colour make it a strong feature plant for garden beds, borders, rockeries and containers. 

Easy to maintain and naturally compact, ‘Morgan’ performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. It generally requires very little pruning to retain its neat shape, making it suitable for low-maintenance landscapes and small garden spaces. Its evergreen foliage provides year-round structure, while its modest mature size makes it especially useful where larger conifers would be unsuitable.
