A graceful, upright shrub reaching up to 4 m in height and spreading to about 2 m wide, featuring distinctive rusty stems and lush, lanceolate to elliptic foliage. The upper leaf surface is hairless and dark green, while the lower surface is covered with dense, rusty-hued hairs, giving the plant a unique textured appearance.
From September to October, Pomaderris ferruginea produces clusters of small white to yellow flowers in terminal panicles up to 10 cm across, attracting birds and adding seasonal interest to gardens. Its hardy nature allows it to thrive in wet sclerophyll forests, drier woodlands, and shrublands, making it ideal for native plantings, screening, and naturalistic landscaping across NSW, Queensland, and Victoria.
