Portulacaria afra ‘Aurea’, commonly known as Yellow Rainbow Bush, is a colourful evergreen succulent admired for its vibrant golden-yellow and green foliage set against attractive reddish-brown stems. Its naturally spreading, shrubby habit creates year-round interest, making it a standout feature in succulent gardens, hanging baskets, patio containers, and bonsai collections.
Slow growing but exceptionally hardy, this drought-tolerant succulent thrives in a wide range of conditions once established. The brilliant foliage becomes even more striking during the warmer months, providing a beautiful contrast to flowering plants. Although it rarely flowers, mature plants may occasionally produce clusters of small lavender-pink blooms under ideal conditions. Easy to maintain and highly adaptable, Portulacaria afra ‘Aurea’ is an excellent choice for water-wise landscapes and low-maintenance gardens.
