A compact, perennial shrub with hairy, branching stems, growing 0.15–0.3 m high. Its narrow, lanceolate to ovate leaves (2–7 cm long) provide delicate texture and subtle colour variation, sometimes showing purple or gland-dotted undersides, making it ideal for native gardens, rockeries, and low-maintenance borders
The plant produces small, pea-shaped flowers in terminal racemes, ranging from white to mauve, often with darker spots on the lower petal. Flowering mainly occurs in spring to early summer, attracting native pollinators and adding seasonal colour to naturalistic plantings
