Tipuana Tipu is a fast-growing and spreading tree, native to South America (southern Bolivia, northern Argentina, southern Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay), known by various names such as Pride of Bolivia, Racehorse Tree, Rosewood, and Yellow Jacaranda. It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and is commonly cultivated as a garden and street tree in warmer regions of Australia. This tree can grow up to 30 meters in height, with a wide spread of 20 meters, and produces striking yellow, pea-shaped flowers in the summer.

The tree features once-compound leaves with several oval leaflets and a distinctive rough bark on its main trunk. The flowers appear in elongated clusters, followed by winged fruits that rotate as they fall. Tipuana tipu is an environmental weed in certain regions, including Queensland, and is known for its ability to naturalize in disturbed areas.
