Rosa ‘Pat Austin’ (Pat Austin English Shrub Rose) is a distinctive David Austin rose celebrated for its large, deeply cupped flowers in striking shades of bright copper and orange, with paler copper-yellow tones on the reverse of the petals. The warm colouring stands beautifully against dark green foliage, while a strong tea fragrance adds another dimension to its garden appeal. Its naturally arching growth creates a graceful shrub that works particularly well in rose gardens, mixed beds and borders.
A repeat-flowering variety, Pat Austin produces successive flushes of richly coloured blooms over an extended flowering season. Its unusual copper colouring, fragrance and classic English rose form make it an excellent feature plant for gardeners looking for something different from traditional pink, red or white roses. The variety has also performed well in Australian conditions and is noted by the Rose Society of South Australia for heat tolerance and prolific flowering.
