Rosa Rugosa (Rugosa Rose) is a hardy deciduous rose variety admired for its robust growth, deeply wrinkled green foliage, and resilience in coastal and exposed conditions. Throughout summer and into autumn, it produces masses of fragrant, open white blooms with a delicate charm. These are followed by large, tomato-shaped red hips that add seasonal interest and attract wildlife.
This vigorous shrub rose is tolerant of poor soils, wind, and salt spray, making it ideal for hedges, screens, and naturalistic plantings. Its dense and thorny growth habit also provides excellent habitat and protection for small birds.
