Salvia Semiatrata, commonly known as Pine Mountain Sage, is an attractive evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub prized for its unusual two-toned flowers and textured foliage. Its yellow-green to olive-green leaves provide an attractive backdrop for clusters of tubular blooms, which combine lavender and deep violet-purple tones with contrasting magenta calyces.
A versatile choice for borders, cottage gardens, rockeries and containers, Salvia Semiatrata provides a long season of colour and is attractive to bees and butterflies. It performs best in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil, and light pruning after flowering helps maintain a compact, bushy shape.
